What personal data do I collect and why I collect it
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
We don’t use the Gravatar service – so nothing is sent to them
Contact forms
Any information you include in my contact form is stored temporarily on the site but removed when I reply.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account, and you log in to this site, a temporary cookie will be saved to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
Analytics
I only collect Analytics data on your visit to this site, I use a self-hosted plugin and the data is never shared with any third party.
Who I share your data with
I do not share or sell your data with any third parties ever! Full stop.
How long I retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained until the comment is deleted. This is so I can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on this website (if any), I also store the personal information they provide in their user profile (Please don’t use your real name). All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username).
What rights you have over your data
You can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to me. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you.
